The «Lviv - UNESCO City of Literature» Office has been in existence since 2015 and is based in the City Palace of Culture named after Hnat Hotkevich. The office is a team of cultural managers who are responsible for the promotion and project support of the title "UNESCO City of Literature" at the local, national and international levels. The team's tasks also include communication with and reporting to UNESCO for the title granted to the city. In fact, the Office "Lviv - UNESCO City of Literature" is an institution that contributes to the implementation and development of the strategy declared in the application for the title, and is an intermediary between the city authorities and the literary environment.

Challenge

Portfolio is the most effective format for presenting information. For the City of Literature portfolio, we chose a square magazine shape, which is convenient to place in medium-sized bags. To implement this task, we needed to divide the implemented projects by types, and in this way, in the process of portfolio implementation, an additional task arose - to establish the typology of projects and understand what the structure of the institution's activities is. Thus, work on the magazine and portfolio became a pretext for creating a systematized typology and internal hierarchization of projects.
The design of the portfolio was primarily related to the need to create infographics and timelines, since the main task of the Office is the implementation of long-term projects and the creation of an ecosystem at three levels - local, national, international. Conceptually, this hierarchy had to be packaged in an attractive interface, and since Lviv is a medieval city, a city of individuals and personalities, which we will talk about in more detail in the material about the branding of the Office of the City of Literature, we chose the aesthetics of graphics, which is at the crossroads of history, its it can equally be considered a Da Vinci concept, but it also has hints of futurism. So this is a retro futuristic infographic that tells the story of The Office in an elegant way.
The cover, in an ironic postmodern concept of human evolution, or a game with images, points to several key positions for the Office of the City of Literature - from the human brain to the office itself. A game with analogies and an ecosystem.
The magazine is clearly structured, first we read about the office and in the format of infographics reveal the essence of its activities, the following pages step by step introduce us to the three levels of projects - local, national, international, and finally review the main partners at these three levels and plans for the future.
